πŸ”– Bookmarks

Save anything you find interesting β€” then come back to it whenever you want.

πŸ”–What are Bookmarks?

Bookmarks are your personal saved-item list on NotaeLibrary. Whenever you find something worth keeping β€” a book, a Study Room post, a news article, a document inside a room β€” you can tap the πŸ”– bookmark icon to save it instantly.

All of your bookmarks live in one place: Home Room β†’ Bookmarks. No folders to manage, no complicated organisation β€” just a running list of everything you've saved, sorted by when you saved it.

⚑ One tap to save

Hit the πŸ”– icon on any supported card. It saves immediately β€” no confirmation dialogs, no extra steps.

πŸ” Tap again to remove

Already bookmarked something? Tap the icon again to remove it. The icon fills in to show saved status.

πŸ“‚ Everything in one place

Books, posts, articles, and room documents all appear in the same Bookmarks page β€” no separate lists to juggle.

πŸ”’ Private to you

Your bookmarks are visible only to you. Nobody else can see what you've saved.

πŸ“ŒWhat can you bookmark?

NotaeLibrary supports bookmarking across several content types:

πŸ“š

Library Works

Books, serials, audio books, podcasts, video series, and other published works from the Library Catalog. Great for saving titles you want to read later without adding them to your bookshelf yet.

πŸ“

Study Room Posts

Posts shared inside Study Rooms β€” discussion threads, shared articles, observations, and research notes. When a post catches your eye in your feed or inside a room, save it to revisit later.

πŸ“°

News Articles

External news and articles surfaced in room feeds. If a linked article is relevant to your work or interests, bookmark it to keep the reference handy.

πŸ“„

Study Room Documents

Documents, files, and works uploaded directly to a Study Room by its members. These are the private resources your rooms accumulate β€” research papers, drafts, references.

πŸ–±οΈHow to save a bookmark

  1. 1

Find something you want to save

Browse your Home Room Feed, explore a Study Room, or search the Library Catalog. Bookmarkable content shows the πŸ”– icon.

  2. 2

    Tap the bookmark icon

Click or tap the πŸ”–icon on the card. It saves instantly. The icon will fill in (πŸ”–) to confirm it's saved.

  3. 3

    Visit your Bookmarks page

Go to Home Room β†’ Bookmarks to see everything you've saved. Items are grouped by type and sorted by most recently saved.

  4. 4

    Remove when you're done

Once you've read or acted on something, tap the πŸ”– icon again (or use the remove button on the Bookmarks page) to clear it from your list.

πŸ€”Bookmarks vs. My Bookshelf β€” what's the difference?

NotaeLibrary has two ways to track reading material. Here's how they differ:

πŸ”–

Bookmarks

  • Quick saves β€” one tap, no commitment
  • Works, posts, articles, and documents
  • No reading status tracking
  • Good for β€œread later” or general references
  • Cleared whenever you like

πŸ“š

My Bookshelf

  • Organised reading list with status
  • Library Works only (books, serials, etc.)
  • Tracks: Want to Read / Reading / Finished
  • Records progress, ratings, and notes
  • Your permanent reading history

Rule of thumb:Use Bookmarks to quickly capture anything interesting. Use your Bookshelf when you're ready to commit to reading something and want to track your progress.

πŸ’‘Tips for getting the most out of Bookmarks

  • Use bookmarks as an inbox. Save anything that catches your eye during the day, then process your bookmarks list at the end of the week β€” decide what to read, move to your Bookshelf, or remove.
  • Bookmark room posts for follow-up.If someone shares a resource in a Study Room that you want to look at later, bookmark it so you don't lose it in the feed.
  • Save news articles for research. Articles surfaced in room feeds are external links. Bookmarking them keeps the reference in one place even if the feed moves on.
  • Keep it tidy.Bookmarks work best as a short list. If you find your list growing long, spend five minutes removing things you've already read or no longer need.
