Your personal map of connected study rooms β a living knowledge graph you build yourself.
Room Connections is an interactive, zoomable graph that shows how your study rooms relate to one another. Each node is a room you belong to. Each edge (line) between nodes is a connection you define β labelled with whatever relationship makes sense to you, like related research, reference, or spawned from.
Unlike a feed or a folder, a graph lets you see clusters, paths, and gaps in your knowledge work at a glance. The map is yours β no one else can see or edit your connections.
π What makes this different
Study rooms are collaborative. The rooms on your graph were not all created by you β and not everyone in a room sees the same graph. Each member holds their own private set of connections, drawn from the rooms they belong to, labelled the way theythink about the relationships. The platform brings people together inside shared rooms while leaving each person's map of knowledge entirely their own.
Imagine a family using NotaeLibrary together. You create a room called Family Album as a shared archive and invite your partner, your adult children, and a sibling. Over time the family builds out a constellation of rooms β some created by you, some by others who then invited you in.

πΈ Venue & Florists is not visible β you were never invited to that room.

π Jake's Graduation is not visibleβ Emma was not invited. Her label for Family Album is βmy weddingβ, not βchapter ofβ.

How to build this
Single-click to re-centre
Breadcrumb trail
Double-click to open the World graph
Pan & zoom
Depth selector
Connections are directional β they go from one room to another β but the graph treats them as undirected when computing layout and depth, so the direction is purely a semantic hint for you.
Hover a node to reveal handles
Drag from a handle to another node
Fill in the popover
Press Enter or click Create
If a room has faded due to inactivity but you want to keep it visually prominent, you can pin it. Pinned rooms always display at full opacity regardless of when you last visited.
Your room graph is automatically passed to Sage (the AI assistant embedded in each room) as additional context. Sage doesn't just look inside the room you're in β it walks the connection graph outward, hop by hop, gathering knowledge from adjacent rooms before answering you.
π· Family Album β traversal walkthrough
You open Family Album and ask Sage a question
βDo we have any photos from the Japan trip at Emma's wedding?β
Sage reads Family Album (hop 0)
It loads all notes, media, and discussions inside this room first. This is always the highest-priority context β the room you're actually in.
Sage follows connections outward (hop 1)
It sees four direct connections: Emma's Wedding 2024, Japan Trip 2023, Summer Reunion 2022, Jake's Graduation 2021. Sage reads a summary of each, labelled by the relation (βchapter ofβ) so it understands why those rooms are connected.
Sage spots the cross-connection (hop 2)
Following the edge from Emma's Wedding labelled βshared guestsβ, Sage arrives at Summer Reunion 2022 via a second path. It now knows these two rooms share people β giving it the context to answer across both albums.
Sage answers with cross-room knowledge
βI found a note in Japan Trip 2023 about a photography series you brought back, and a caption in Emma's Wedding 2024that references the same photographer. The Summer Reunion room also has a guest list that overlaps with the wedding β you may want to cross-check those.β
Without connections, Sage could only answer from Family Album alone and would miss everything in the chapter rooms.
