My Workspace Tutorial

Your creative hub for everything you make and own on NotaeLibrary — works, media, worlds, and more.

đŸ› ī¸

What is My Workspace?

My Workspace is your personal creative dashboard on NotaeLibrary, found at /homeroom/workspace. It is the central place where you manage everything you create and own on the platform.

Think of it as the backstage area of your NotaeLibrary presence — while your public catalog page and study rooms are what the world sees, the Workspace is where you build, organise, and publish.

📚 Works

Finished or in-progress creative titles — books, serials, audiobooks, podcasts, videos, live channels, and more. Works can be catalogued, discovered by readers, and published for the world.

đŸ–ŧī¸ Media

Raw assets — images, videos, audio, and documents. Media can stand alone as gallery artwork or be attached to a Work as cover art, illustrations, or bonus content.

🔑

Who can access it?

My Workspace is available to users who hold the Author or Creator role. Regular Reader accounts will be redirected if they try to visit the Workspace.

💡If you want to publish works or upload media, you need to apply for the Creator role. Visit your account settings or contact support to get started.

Study Room membership, reading, and most platform features are available to all users regardless of role — the Workspace is specifically for people who are actively creating and publishing content.

📚

My Works — your creative titles

The My Works section lists every work you have created or imported. From here you can browse, filter, and manage all your titles in one place.

📚

All Works

Every title you own — draft and published — in a single list.

✏ī¸

Drafts

Works you are still working on, not yet visible to the public.

đŸ—‚ī¸

Catalogued

Published works visible in the public catalog and searchable by readers.

➕

Create or Add New Work

Start a new work from scratch or import an existing title.

â„šī¸You can filter your works by type using the type buttons (Books, Videos, Live Channels, Amazon KDP Books) to quickly find what you are looking for.
🎨

Work types explained

NotaeLibrary supports a wide range of creative formats. Each work has a type that determines how it is displayed and catalogued:

📖

Book

Long-form written fiction or non-fiction. Can include an ePub file for in-browser reading.

📰

Serial

Episodic written content published in chapters or instalments over time.

🎧

Audiobook

Narrated audio version of a book or original audio content.

đŸŽŦ

Video

Video content — embed from YouTube, Vimeo, or similar platforms.

đŸŽ™ī¸

Podcast

Audio episodes — link an RSS feed or individual episodes.

đŸŽĩ

Music

Albums, singles, and audio releases.

📡

Live Channel

Streaming channels — link a live stream URL for readers to tune in.

✉ī¸

Newsletter

Regular written dispatches — link your newsletter archive or RSS.

đŸ–ŧī¸

My Media — raw assets

The My Media section is your asset library. Unlike Works (which are finished creative titles), Media are the raw building blocks — images, video files, audio clips, and documents.

đŸ–ŧī¸

Images

Cover art, illustrations, promotional graphics, and gallery artwork.

đŸŽŦ

Videos

Video assets that can be attached to works or shared as standalone media.

đŸŽĩ

Audio

Audio files — narration clips, music samples, or bonus audio.

📄

Documents

PDFs and documents — manuscripts, press kits, or supporting materials.

💡You can generate images using AI directly from the workspace. Visit Generate Images to create custom cover art or illustrations with a single prompt.
🌐

My Worlds

My Worlds is where you build the universe behind your creative work. A World is a structured knowledge base for your fiction — characters, places, timelines, objects, and lore — all connected and queryable by Sage AI.

🌍

Fiction Worlds

Private lore and world-building for your books, serials, and creative projects.

🌐

Study Room Worlds

Worlds attached to Study Rooms — shared knowledge bases your members can query and contribute to.

â„šī¸Worlds are a powerful feature for authors building complex fictional universes or teams collaborating on research. Sage AI can answer questions about your world based on the entities and connections you have built.
đŸ“Ļ

Amazon KDP Books

If you have already published books on Amazon KDP, you can import them into NotaeLibrary without re-entering all your details. The Amazon Published Books section lets you view and manage any titles you have imported, and the KDP Import wizard handles the rest.

Imported Amazon books appear in your Works list, can be shelved in Study Rooms, and show a buy link back to Amazon for readers who want to purchase.

💡Use the Import KDP Book wizard to import a book by its ASIN. The wizard fetches the title, description, and cover automatically.

Getting started

New to the Workspace? Here is the recommended path to get your first work live:

1

Go to My Workspace

Navigate to /homeroom/workspace from your Home Room or the Frontdesk navigation.
2

Create or import a work

Click Create or Add New Work to open the type selector. Choose your work type — Book, Serial, Video, Podcast, and so on — and fill in the details.
3

Upload cover art

Head to My Media → Images and upload a cover image, or use the AI image generator to create one instantly.
4

Publish to the catalog

Once your work is ready, set it to Public to make it visible in the NotaeLibrary catalog and searchable by readers.
5

Add it to a Study Room shelf

Share your work in a Study Room by adding it to the room's bookshelf — a great way to build an audience.
💡You do not need to have everything perfect before publishing. Start with a draft, build it out, and set it public when you are ready.
